If you are interested in learning to play a wind instrument, the training band will guide you through each note (reading music and fingering) and build up to playing simple tunes with the rest of the band. Examples shown below. Music for your instrument will be provided each week and include: a) Beginners lessons in which notes to play are added each week, and basic musical notations such as rhythms, rests, articulations, etc are gradually introduced. b) simple tunes to learn and play with the rest of the band Orpington Band WELCOMES NEW
MEMBERS Have fun playing a Brass or Wind instrument in
Orpington’s Beginners’ Band starting this September! If you at any
age, would like to learn to play a musical instrument here’s
how. Learn to play a blowing instrument with no previous
knowledge, starting in Sept. Don’t try to learn on your own!
Lessons are given in the form of a FULL BAND. If you have
already done some playing and want to join others, this is
also for you. Some members of the main band play along with
the beginners, helping them to learn. After a year with
practice and progress, you may, only if you wish, join the
main Orpington Band. £50/term then
